It just takes some thorough investigation and good planning. You’ll realize that this type of grant has a lot already done for you.

Many Claim To Have The Secret

They announce government grants in an e-book for you to buy, but they only give you half the information. You will have to actually contact your nearest government office and find out the eligibility criteria in great detail. Reality says that not all trades, not all individuals and not all places are eligible for a government grant. In fact, they are quite restricted.

Well, the grants are non-refundable. You can keep them, but Uncle Sam is no thumb-sucker and he won’t give money away just like that. Your country helps you, so that you, in turn will help your country… Give and take. That is why you will find that some minorities are favored with grants, maybe some determined area or state will be helped out and even some special trades that need to be developed or are in great need will be favored with a grant.

The Condition

If you have no pretence of living in a particular place, or dedicating your working life to a trade you had never even thought of before, you have won the first part of the battle. The next part is to prepare a good business plan of the trade you choose. Investigate the place, do your homework. Take note of everything that you deem might be of importance. Then go home and start classifying and elaborate your plan.

A Good Business Plan

A good plan should contemplate assets, machinery, facilities, inventory, raw materials, production per time unit, cash flow, and other such vital information. You can download a business plan checklist from internet and create your own plan, based on that model. Take your time, do it well. Perhaps you can consult an accountant about it and ask for advice.

The presentation should be neatly packed in a folder and printed in businesslike manner. Make a copy to keep at home, in case you have to hand in more than one set. Take note of the government agent you speak to and of all that is said at each interview.

The Amount

There are grants from $500 to $50,000, depending on the trade and other specifications. The main advantage is that it is not a loan, but a grant. They do not have to be repaid. Maybe after startup, you will want a loan to expand your activity, but that is a totally different matter.

Remember that the condition is that it should be a trade in great need for development. Then, you will be absolutely sure that you always have a market to sell to. It acts as insurance, so to speak. Then comes your ability to innovate, expand your business, add more and better products or services and maybe even reach other markets outside your region, once you’ve got a good name.

Non-profit organizations are the first in eligibility, and then come other cases, like development of new technology, salvage of important businesses in run down areas, like floods or draughts. Take good note, investigate and get ready for a thorough planning.

First, What’s First

What do you want a grant for? Well, in the first place, since non-profit organizations are not the case here, it leaves the other big field of action: You are looking for a business of your own, for your benefit and that of your dear ones. Planning is the fundamental trait of every well established business, so make sure you consider one of the options for which the government WILL give a grant.

Where Do I Get This Information From?

Internet is a good source. Type in a few key words, the longer the phrase, the more specific the search will be. There are any number of documents that will tell you exactly what type of activity will deserve a government grant, often referred to as “Free Government Grants”. Most of the reports are very complete, going into great detail in the requirements field, the most important. The allotted amounts are secondary.

What Information Will I Find?

Well, the information is all about small businesses, to begin with, certain areas that the government wants to develop, and activities that will benefit the public in general. You will find a section called “eligibility requirements” and a list of maximum amounts for determined types of business. Read this thoroughly and once you find a business or situation that suits you, start planning.

Get Cracking, Make Well Laid Out Plans

Planning a business is always rather complicated, because it means a market research, cash flow estimation and a development or reinvestment plan for the first five years. The more detailed your plans, the better your chances are of getting the grant.

The Advantages

The advantages of choosing a business that the government WILL give you a grant for, are a couple of interesting ones. The obvious one is that the grant does not have to be paid back. The other, not so obvious point, is that it means that the government has already done research for you, finding necessary activities, namely those that will mean satisfying a great need of the public. Naturally, it means that customers will come to you, due to the great demand of your product or service.

The Disadvantages

The only disadvantages to be considered are having your scope of activity reduced by eligibility conditions, but that can be amply compensated with the need of the public for a determined business. Then, it may probably mean moving to a new area where the grants will have a better chance of coming through. Otherwise, the sole advantage of opening a business that is greatly in demand, will compensate the mild disadvantages.

Prepare Your Path From The Very Beginning

Make an elaborate plan of action, investigate thoroughly and always keep your objective in sight. Government grants DO come through, otherwise they wouldn’t be announced. It’s just a matter of getting help from the experts and double checking all information, so as to do things right, from the very beginning.

None of these Government Grants require a credit check, collateral, security deposits or co-signers, you can apply even if you have a bankruptcy or bad credit, it doesn’t matter. There are many different government grants available, from a great many different sources, and these government grants can be a godsend for anyone trying to start a new business, put themselves or their children through school or even buy a first home. Whether you need money to fix up your home or you’d like to go to college, government grants shouldn’t be overlooked.

If you find out that the amount of funding you qualify for still doesn’t meet your needs, you can pursue additional private and government grants, scholarships and other programs. As you can see, government grants, scholarships and more are available to help you pay for college. Basically free money offered by the federal government to help citizens realize their dreams and improve the American landscape along the way, there are literally hundreds of different grants available.

Having pointed to the drawbacks, there are many genuine government grants for both small businesses and individuals available, and these can be substantial. There are also Reserved Free Government Cash Grants now available for the following special interest groups. Some government grants are available only to residents of certain states or municipalities, while others are restricted to those who work in certain industries, or who come from a certain socioeconomic background.

Government grants are offered for those who want to buy their first home, to those who are starting a business and need finance in order to make everything work, to those who want to investigate on certain fields that the government has a particular interest on developing, etc. What all these different grants have in common is the fact that their purpose is to provide finance for those in an underprivileged situation in each particular field. Due to the nature of government grants there is no such thing as a fixed set of requirements that the different grant types have in common.

When researching for Government Grants, one of the best resources for research is the Internet. In order to find these different government grants it is best to begin with the Free Application for Student Aid otherwise known as the FAFSA. If you would like to pursue getting a government grant or a consolidation loan it is very important to take the time to properly research any offer you come across.

When you find the government grant program you want to apply in, you must register for an account. You should also first locate the right government grant program that is appropriate for your need. Whether it is to pay for school, or to start a business there are ways for you to receive government help in a form of grants.

The first thing you need to know is where to look. Just doing a Google search for it and it will often lead you to a fruitless search, unfortunately. However, there are some websites that you can use that will bring up much better results:

Foundation Center:

The Foundation Center website lists thousands of available grants, including government grants for women, grants for individuals, grants for small businesses, and many more. The nice thing about their website is it also includes private foundation grants and corporate giving programs in addition to government grants for women. Often it is easier to get private grants for women than federal grants, because there is much more competition for federal/government grants than private foundation grants. If you go to foundationcenter.org you can search their database for free, but to get more detailed information it does cost a bit of money. My course (see the link at the bottom of this article) shows you some ways to access even the detailed information without having to pay high subscription fees. Check out the link at the bottom of this article for this information.

Grants.gov:

Grants.gov is the central place to search for government grants for women. They do not list any private foundation grants, but government grants only. The website is quite self explanatory, but can be a bit confusing even though they’re constantly trying to improve it. If you are going to try to get a government grant through grants.gov, I would recommend you get some guidance. My website (listed at the bottom of this article) has a lot of resources to guide you in a situation like this.

Government Grants For Women Entrepreneurs:

If you are a woman who owns 51% or more of your business, your business would be classified as a “woman-owned business” and may be eligible for additional grant resources. Before you seek these resources, however, you will need to do the following: make sure your credit report is clean, put together a well thought out business plan, and get a third party to certify that you ar ea woman-owned business. The small business administration can do this for you (certification).

When looking to pay off credit card debt, one of the most overlooked options many people have are government grants. Many people do not look into these grants because they simply do not know about them. However, the government sets aside billions each year just for this purpose, to give them away. If you are one of the millions of people who are suffering from credit card debt, you definitely want to consider applying for a grant from the government.

Government grants are available, the key is finding them. If you are looking for debt relief, you should understand that there are ways to get out of this debt and it is up to you to seek the help you need and deserve. We all get into trouble now and then with our financial situation, however, if the help is available, why not take advantage of it.

Why do these grants make more sense when it comes to credit card debt elimination? Simply put, these grants are far easier to obtain than traditional loans. Traditional loans may require some form of collateral or security deposit, grants do not require these because they are provided by the government.

The key to grants is to be creative. The government is willing to jump-start the economy by providing small business grants. If you apply for and receive a grant for several thousand dollars, you can eliminate your debt by using the money earned in your business to pay them off.

In order to get the grant the people accepting your application will need to review your situation. In other words, they will be looking at many things. First, they will be looking at if you have the ability to pay the money you currently owe, then they will take a look at the debts you currently have, and finally your financial ability to repay what you owe and still maintain your current debt. If you can prove that you cannot pay back this money, the grant will likely be yours.

Government grants can do many things for you. First, they can provide you with the money you need for debt relief without having to provide security or collateral. Second, these grants can save you from having to file for bankruptcy. Third, no repayment is necessary, this is type of financial aid, and it cannot be taxed and does not accrue any interest. Finally, it can instantly make you debt free, which cannot be said about other types of debt relief solutions.

Overall, obtaining a government grant just makes sense when you are swimming in debt that you cannot get out of.

One of the hardest things about being a single mom is finding enough money to pay the bills. Debt is a reality for many Americans, but for single moms financial problems can be even worse. Having enough money to pay rent or mortgage, buy groceries, and take care of the kids is a lot for one person to handle. Thankfully, there’s help available. You just need to know where to look.

A good place to start would be talking to non-profits in your area that offer Government financial help for single moms. These wonderful organizations offer housing assistance, employment assistance, and even tuition assistance. Check the phonebook, local non-profit listings, and the internet for opportunities in your community.

Federal and state governments also offer programs to help single mothers in need. Look up the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or TANF, program in your state and contact them for help with food stamps, job training and placement assistance, and financial aid. For help paying your energy bill, contact your utility company first to see if they can offer any assistance. You can also contact the Low Income Housing Energy Assistance Program, or LIHEAP, to request assistance with your heating bill.

Another option is to apply for grants set aside for single moms. To find available grant money, simply search the internet for “grants for single mothers” and a long list will appear. You have to apply and be accepted for grants and different programs will have different expectations. Apply for the ones best suited to your particular situation.

There are also many ways you can earn extra money without sacrificing time with your children. You could watch other children during the day or in the evenings while you take care of your kids. You could watch other people’s pets while they are away, clean a house or two a week, or look for freelancing jobs you can do from home. If you have a special talent or hobby, consider turning it into a business. There are many things you can make, bake, write, craft, or create that you could also sell.

Paying the bills as a single mom can be tough, but you don’t have to go it alone. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. There are programs out there that have been specifically designed to help single moms who are having trouble making ends meet.

Another site you can also have a look at is the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance or the CFDA. This has a list of Government grants and assistance. The Catalog also allows you to punch in key words for you to browse through the available grants out there by Category or by Topic Area. However, best is still at Guaranteed US Government Grant for USA Citizens at http://www.trustedreviews.info/money/usm/index.html

Now that you found the grant perfect for you, you have to really understand what is written on the Eligibility Requirements. Understand these and make sure that you are qualified before you apply for the grant – so as to not waste time.

Another important note on government grants that you must consider is that they are not available all year-round. Just like fruits in the market, you cannot go there and buy it if it is not in season. You cannot apply for a grant just because you feel like it. You can only apply when it has the go signal from the Government agency.

The Government agency comes up with the funding for the grant. Once this is met, it announces to the Federal Register that the grant is available.

One must remember that researching for the right grant, looking for the one that is right for you and applying for it may take a lot of time and effort on your end. The forms are not simply filled up and sent in like how you do with credit card issuers. It does not work that way.

For one, grants are very competitive. Since this is some sort of “free lunch,” a lot of people line up for it to be able to have a grant. However, government agencies sift through all these proposals and only approve those they have a gut feeling on who would make the most out of the money they lent them. Up to $25,000 to upgrade your skills as an Employee. US Government Grants for USA Citizens

There are some government agencies that would only provide funds to a specific kind of cost or expenses. Therefore, these government agencies will not be able to fully back the grantee up with the entire expenses.

Another thing is that not all grants are available all year-around. You have to check whether the grant that is right for the business venture, charity event or personal reasons you are interested in is available at that time.
